Nutrition At Ferntree Gully Children's Centre
Our meals are freshly prepared on site in our services accredited kitchen by our own chef who is familiar with the nutritional requirements of children from birth to six years of age in line with the Australian Dietary Guidelines. Our seasonal menu reflects the fresh produce available in our community and from our services vegetable gardens.
Through the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Project which is embedded through our service, teaches children of all age about pleasurable food experiences, embracing the flavours as well as the health benefits of fresh, seasonal, delicious food.
All meals are nutritionally balanced and appealing to children to provide your child with the nutrients their bodies need to grow and develop to reach their physical and mental potential. Educators start discussions and education to promote good nutrition for your child from commencing at our service. This is done through discussions, play, role modelling, cooking experiences, gardening, incursions, newsletter articles, factsheets and displays through the service.
