The Toddlers Room At Ferntree Gully Children's Centre
Upon entering the Toddler room, you will be greeted by the sight of the children crawling and walking through the room, engaging in activities and interacting with the educators in the room. The children have many different experiences available for them to access including blocks, books, puzzles, dolls, play kitchen and art experiences.
Educators interactions with the children in the Toddler room are always gentle and nurturing, with educators lowering themselves to the same level as the children. Often you will observe an educator sitting on the cushions in the book corner, reading books, using puppets and singing to the children.
During meal times the children in the Toddler room are guided to wash their hands with educator assistance before being seated at the table and sharing a communal meal. The older children are starting to serve their own meals with assistances from an educator, often asking for “more”, with educators encouraging children to ask for “more please” role modelling positive language for the children.
