At Ferntree Gully Children’s Centre, we believe every child deserves a safe, nurturing space where they can grow, explore, and feel truly connected. For over 16 years, our family-owned centre has been part of the local community, offering more than just childcare – we provide a place where children build confidence, friendships, and a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.
As a family-owned and operated childcare centre, we understand the joys and challenges of raising little ones – because we’re parents too! We’ve built a centre that feels like a second home rather than a business. On average, our educators have been with us for more than 5 years, providing stability and consistency for our children and families. This longevity allows us to build strong relationships and tailor our care to meet the unique needs of each family.
Our journey began in 2009, driven by the belief that early learning should feel personal, connected, and community-minded. Unlike large commercial centres built for high traffic, Ferntree Gully Children’s Centre was intentionally designed as a service-built centre. This means our environment prioritises smaller class sizes, genuine relationships, and spaces created with children’s safety and development at the forefront.
For families new to childcare, navigating the first steps can feel overwhelming. To help, we’ve put together a comprehensive guide for first-time parents, covering everything from enrolment tips to what to expect during your child’s first days at our centre.
Over the years, we’ve grown into a trusted part of the Ferntree Gully community. Families who moved further away often continue to bring their children here because of the meaningful connections they’ve built with our educators. We’ve seen generations of families walk through our doors, and each one reinforces why we do what we do.
Our mission is simple: to nurture every child’s potential in a safe, caring, and community-focused environment.
To provide high-quality, play-based education and care that encourages curiosity, resilience, and kindness.
To be a centre where families feel supported, children thrive, and our community grows stronger together.
Building strong bonds between educators, children, and families.
Upholding the Victorian Child Safe Standards in everything we do.
Celebrating culture, diversity, and acknowledging Wurundjeri Country.
Guided by the EYLF (Early Years Learning Framework) to provide evidence-based learning.
Offering transparency, open communication, and a two-week notice guarantee for families who aren’t fully satisfied.
Many centres promise care – but our families often say they feel the difference as soon as they walk in the door.
Behind every smile, story time, and milestone achieved is a team of passionate educators. Many of our staff have been with us for years, creating a sense of continuity and trust for families.
Our educators are:
Holding early childhood qualifications and trained in child safety practices.
Focused on engaging with children instead of screens or apps, ensuring genuine connection.
Many are locals themselves, sharing a deep connection with the families they support.
Director Ingrid leads with honesty, high standards, and genuine care – ensuring each child is seen as an individual with unique needs.
The impact of our care goes beyond the classroom:
Nothing speaks louder than the words of families we’ve supported:
We know choosing childcare is one of the most important decisions a family makes. That’s why we:
Ferntree Gully Children’s Centre isn’t just a place where children learn – it’s where families belong.
We invite you to visit us, meet our educators, and experience the warmth of our community.
